Junction Motor Speedway journey winds up with runner-up finish

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. -- Jason Krohn and his team traveled to the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., this past Friday and Saturday, June 1-2, for a pair of USMTS Casey’s Cup Series events at the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile clay oval.

After a last-corner pass of Stormy Scott in the first heat race, Krohn redrew the third starting spot for the main event. A first-lap move put him into second place behind early leader Ryan Ruter for the 35-lapper which saw just one yellow flag after lap 1.

The #7k Subway/Krohn Farms Hughes Chassis powered by Sput’s Racing Engines was strong throughout the race, but Ruter was on a rail and Krohn had to settle for the runner-up paycheck as he held off Ryan Gustin’s late-race charge.

Next up will be a four-race weekend through Wisconsin and Minnesota on Wednesday-Saturday, June 13-16, with each race paying $2,000 to win.

Jason Krohn Racing is made possible by Adam Blume, Bill's Backhoe Service, Bose Farms, Crop Insurance Specialist, Eibach Springs, Haecherl Construction, Hughes Racing Chassis, Real Racing Wheels, Sput's Racing Engines, Subwa and Sybesma Graphics.
